One Fat Emu offers original handcrafted homewares, aged garden pieces.
The Adelaide Hills Farm Shop offers a unique selection of potted plants, fresh flowers, seasonal produce, foliage and handcrafted homewares.
Rising from the ashes of a 2015 bushfire that ravaged the Adelaide Hills, One Fat Emu began as a catalyst to tame that nagging desire to create something beautiful from found objects.
It was in those moments, when we faced losing everything, that the clarity to define what we now know as One Fat Emu finally emerged.
A love of the natural world inspires new designs, with inspiration drawn from diverse sources such as woodland areas to rusty farm sheds. Our strong love of foliage, flowers, found objects and natural materials are reflected throughout the range.
Most pieces are one off, each with its own patina and unique character with some items made to order.
Seasonally a range of workshops are run from the Adelaide Hills Farm Shop and Studio.
We are One Fat Emu.
Over the years Kate has worked on a range of exciting projects including renovating a rambling 1930s bungalow that was featured in Australian Country Style Magazine July 2017 edition.
Now based in the Adelaide Hills, Kate and her husband Adrian Battiston, are restoring Netherhill Farm, with its historic outbuildings and extensive country gardens.
A farm shop and studio play host to a range of workshops and the industrial style packing shed and rustic outbuildings make it the perfect wedding venue or location for your next event, photo shoot or workshop.
